Strengths

Where each one wins.

We list theirs first. If one of these matters most to you, it should decide it.

Where Easy WP SMTP is stronger
  • Track record: on WordPress.org since 2013, with 500,000 active installs and 708 reviews averaging 4.6 out of 5.
  • Paid plans add features VuloMail doesn't have: one-click Google sign-in, open and click tracking, email reports, rate limiting, background sending and conditional routing.
  • Paid plans include vendor support; Elite adds priority support.
Where VuloMail is stronger
  • A full email log, resend, backup connection and failure alerts are free in VuloMail. Easy WP SMTP charges $99 a year for them on one site.
  • Gmail, Microsoft 365 and Amazon SES all work in the free plugin. Easy WP SMTP puts all three behind a paid plan.
  • SMS alerts for your site and WooCommerce store, and order-update texts to customers.
  • A sender-domain SPF and DMARC check in Diagnostics.

Verdict

Which one should you pick?

Choose Easy WP SMTP if

  • You want a long-established plugin with paid vendor support.
  • You'll pay for open and click tracking, email reports or rate limiting.

Choose VuloMail if

  • You want logs, backup and alerts without paying every year.
  • You send through Gmail, Microsoft 365 or Amazon SES and don't want a licence just for that.
  • You run a WooCommerce store and want SMS alerts too.

Switching

Moving from Easy WP SMTP.

01

Add the same account

Add the provider you use in Easy WP SMTP as a VuloMail connection. Nothing changes until you set it as primary.

02

Set it as primary

Optionally add a backup connection, so a second provider takes over if the first fails.

03

Send a test

Tools → Send a test email goes through live routing. Diagnostics confirms your SPF and DMARC records.

04

Deactivate Easy WP SMTP

Two plugins handling the same email compete for it. VuloMail's Diagnostics flags any it recognises.
